Country stars Mark Chesnutt and Joe Diffie also hit the stage in January
MESCALERO, N.M. (November 25, 2016)—Inn of the Mountain Gods is pleased to announce legendary British rockers Foghat as the first act of 2017, taking the stage Friday, Jan. 20. Country stars Mark Chestnutt and Joe Diffie will follow with a boot stomping’ good time on Sunday, Jan. 28.
Although the band has seen numerous line-up changes and the passing of two founding members, London’s Foghat has continued to tour and produce music throughout their 45-year career, including their 17th studio album “Under the Influence” released in June. The band formed in 1971 after Savoy Brown members Dave Peverrett, Tony Stevens and Roger Earl left the blues band to pursue a more rock-oriented sound. The band wasted no time, producing eight albums within their first seven years together, garnering five Gold certifications and one platinum certification with their fifth album “Fool for the City” featuring their iconic single “Slow Ride.”
Despite a staggering amount of personnel changes, the band’s subsequent nine albums managed to retain Foghat’s signature blues-infused hard rock and harmonious slide guitars, most notably on the 2010 album “Last Train Home” which paid tribute to departed lead singer and Foghat founder Dave Peverrett. Foghat takes the stage at Inn of the Mountain Gods on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at InnoftheMountainGods.com for $20.
January also sees country stars Mark Chesnutt and Joe Diffie share the stage for a one of a kind show on Sunday, Jan. 28. Best known for his 1999 cover of the Aerosmith classic “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” Chesnutt’s 28-year career has garnered 14 no. 1 hits, 23 top ten singles, five gold records and four platinum albums, in addition, to praise from country music’s biggest entertainers such as George Strait. Oklahoma native Diffie saw his 1994 single “Pickup Man” sit at the no. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country chart for four weeks, the longest tenure of his 12 no. 1 singles.
