MESCALERO, N.M. (January 25, 2017) — Country music’s biggest stars take over Inn of the Mountain Gods this February with performances from Tyler Farr, Granger Smith and Sawyer Brown. Ski Apache hosts the Ski Apache Cup and Heart to Heart Races as well as Fat Tuesday Costume Day.

Ski Apache Cup – Saturday, Feb. 4
Don’t miss the Ski Apache Cup, Saturday, Feb. 4 where teams of three will race down a modified giant slalom course to compete for medals and bragging rights. Each team of three must include one skier, one snowboarder and one woman. Teams can register for $30 by calling 575-464-3600.

Pencils Down Tips Up – Now-Feb.24
Skiing is more accessible than ever thanks to Ski Apache’s Pencils Down Tips Up school program, every Wednesday and Friday through February 24, 2017. Available to participating schools in Carrizozo, Alamogordo, Capitan, Mescalero, Tularosa, Roswell, Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, Pencils Down Tips Up offers extreme discounts for students and parents alike. Students enrolled at participating schools can take advantage of $3 tickets and lessons as well as $5 rentals at the Ski Apache Ski and Snowboard Rental Shops and participating local shops. Additionally, up to two adults may accompany every child for $11 per lift ticket. Sawyer Brown – Friday, Feb. 10
After winning the “Star Search” talent competition in 1983, Sawyer Brown released their self-titled debut album in 1984 to the no. 2 spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart, bolstered by the no. 1 single “Step That Step.” The band’s success continued throughout the ‘80s with their sophomore effort “Shakin’” released in 1985 at no. 3 and their 1989 sixth album, “The Boys Are Back,” which reached no. 5. From 1990 to 1999, Sawyer Brown charted 27 singles including 14 top 10s like “The Walk,” “Thank God for You” and the band’s anthem “Some Girls Do.” Tickets for Sawyer Brown’s Feb. 10 performance start at $25.

Tyler Farr – Saturday, Feb. 11
Missouri native Tyler Farr began his career off the stage, penning hits for the likes of Cole Swindell and Joe Nichols before releasing his debut single “Hot Mess” in 2012. Although not a commercial success, critics responded positively to Farr’s debut. This critical buzz and hit singles like “Whiskey in My Water” helped launch his debut album, “Redneck Crazy,” to the no. 5 on the Billboard 200 and platinum certification. His most recent album, “Suffer in Peace,” continued the 32 year-old’s rise to super-stardom peaking at no. 4 on the Billboard 200 and again reaching platinum certification. Heart to Heart Races – Tuesday, Feb. 14
As the J. Geils band so eloquently sang, “Love Stinks.” But catching some turns at Ski Apache doesn’t, which is why Ski Apache will be hosting the Heart to Heart Races this Valentine’s Day. Teams of two will complete a series of tasks while racing down the mountain for prizes and bragging rights. Teams can sign up for $20 at Ski Apache.

Granger Smith – Friday, Feb. 17
After producing seven albums independently, including 2013’s “Dirt Road Highway,” which peaked at no. 1 on iTunes, Granger Smith finally signed a recording deal with Wheelhouse Records in 2015 releasing his label debut “Remington” in March of 2016. His relentless touring and online presence as an independent artist paid off, as “Remington” climbed to no. 3 on the Top Country charts while selling more than 65,000 copies. Tickets for Granger Smith’s show on Feb. 17 start at $15.

Fat Tuesday Costume Day – Tuesday, Feb. 28

Dr. Seuss Day – Saturday, March 4
You would not, could not, must not miss, a day filled with fun, just like this! Bring the whole family to Dr. Seuss Day at Inn of the Mountain Gods and enjoy breakfast from 9-10 a.m. that includes pancakes, fresh fruit, and juice. Then from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. all are invited to enjoy jumping balloons, an obstacle course and reading circles featuring “The Rainbow Fish,” “The Lorax,” “The Berenstain Bears” and more. Tickets start at $10 and all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. And one last thing, don’t forget – bring a blanket or pillow on which you can sit!

Apache Star Races at Ski Apache – Every Saturday
Riders with a need for speed will be happy to hear that the Apache Star Races are now open, weather permitting. Located on Smokey Bear trail beneath the Gondola line, the racecourse challenges riders to zip between trees as they carve through race gates. Races will be timed, allowing racers to challenge their friends and themselves to complete the fastest run. Entry to the Apache Star Races can be purchased at the Special Services Window for $5 per race or a season race pass can be purchased for $25.

Love Birds Hot Seat – Feb. 1-28
One lucky Apache Spirit Club member will walk away with $150 in table cheques after the Love Birds Hot Seat drawings, every hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Casino Apache this February. Any Table Games player actively playing blackjack during promotional times will be automatically entered for a chance to win. Additionally, all players playing at the same table of the drawing winner will also win $10 in table cheques.

Punch Buggie – Feb. 4-26
Players have a chance to drive home in a 2017 Volkswagon Beetle this February at Inn of the Mountain Gods and Casino Apache thanks to the Punch Buggie drawing starting Saturday, Feb. 4. Apache Spirit Club members who earn 50 points any Sunday, Tuesday or Saturday will earn an entry into the weekly drawings where five winners will win one entry into the final drawing and up to $500 in Free Spirit Play. The five winners from each week will be entered into a final drawing for the 2017 Beetle drawing set for Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. at Inn of the Mountain Gods and Sunday Feb. 26 at 9 p.m. at Casino Apache. Additionally, players can earn 10 times the entries on Tuedays.

Share the Love Slot Tournament – Feb. 4-25
There is no better time to share the love than from 5 – 8 p.m. every Saturday at Inn of the Mountain Gods during the $27,000 Share the Love Slot Tournament. Teams of two who earn 20 points between 5 and 8 p.m. every Saturday will earn one entry into the 8 p.m. tournament where they’ll have a shot at a share of the $27,000 prize pool.

High Five’s for 55’s Red Hot Swipe & Win – Feb. 6-24
Apache Spirit Club members 55 and older have a chance to win up to 50,000 bonus points every Wednesday in February at Inn of the Mountain Gods and Casino Apache. For a chance to win, players must earn 10 points and swipe their Apache Spirit Card between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesdays. Additionally, High Five’s for 55’s members earn five times points every Monday and receive 50 percent off dining on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Winter Local League Poker Tournament – Now-28
Apache Spirit Club Table Game members can participate in Winter Local League Poker Tournaments any Monday or Tuesday in February. Buy-in is $40 with a $10 entry fee. Additionally, the top point earners will be invited back to the two-day “Bad Beat Payback” tournament in March.

Loco for Locals Snowed in to Win – Feb. 2-23
Local Apache Spirit Club members can win their share of $19,000 every Thursday this February during the Snowed in to Win drawings starting Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at Casino Apache. Local players will earn one entry into the weekly drawing for every ten points they earn between 1 and 6:50 p.m. The drawings will take place every Tuesday at 7 p.m. where the first place winner may win as much as $1,500.

Romeo & Juliet Poker Tournament – Feb. 14 & 15
This February 14 and 15, Apache Spirit Club members can enter into the Romeo & Juliet Poker Tournament featuring a $10,000 guaranteed cash prize pool. The $499.99 buy-in includes a one-night stay in a standard room, $100 free spirit play and a $100 meal voucher for Wendell’s Steak & Seafood. Honor Our Soldiers Tribute Thursday – Feb.16
Apache Spirit Club members enrolled in the Honor Our Soldiers program who earn five points from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 and swipe their Apache Spirit Club card will receive seven times points. Offer valid at both Casino Apache and Inn of the Mountain Gods.

Road to the Main Event – Feb. 18 & 19
Texas Hold ‘Em players won’t want to miss the Road to the Main Event Texas hold ‘em tournament on Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19 starting at 11 a.m. Players who register before Feb. 3 receive a $99.00 room-rate, a Gathering of Nations Buffet meal voucher for two and $25 in Free Spirit Play with the $330 buy-in.
