Mescalero, N.M. (July 28, 2016)— Put on your boots and grab your cowboy hat, as Inn of the Mountain Gods brings country stars past and present to Mescalero this August with The Bellamy Brothers and Gene Watson on Sunday, August 21 and LOCASH on Monday, August 22. Justin Shandor, the only Graceland endorsed Elvis impersonator, rounds out the month on Saturday, August 27.
The Bellamy Brothers have experienced an unprecedented amount of success since they’re first performance at the Rattlesnake Roundup in 1968. The duo broke into mainstream success early in their careers with the 1976 crossover mega-hit “Let Your Love Flow,” their first number one hit. The brother’s have since released 28 studio albums since their 1976 debut with 26 top ten singles including 11 number one singles like “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold it Against Me,” “Redneck Girl,” “Kids of the Baby Boom,” and “Dancing Cowboys.”
Fellow ’70s and ’80s country star, Gene Watson will be joining The Bellamy Brothers for a night of nostalgia. Watson’s music career began in Houston during the ‘60s while he worked at a body shop by day and played local clubs at night. Watson had gained regional popularity by the time his debut album and the number three hit single “Love in the Hot Afternoon” was picked up and distributed nationally by Capital Records. Over his career, Watson released 72-charted singles across 33 studio albums including 23 top ten singles and six number one singles like “Fourteen Carat Mind,” “Paper Rosie” and “Farewell Party.”

The country vibes continue with LOCASH hitting the stage on the following night, August 22. The vocalist duo began their career as the LoCash Cowboys in 2010, with the release of their first single “Here Comes Summer” peaking at number 42 on the Billboard Hot Country charts, followed by “Keep in Mind” at number 34 and 2011’s “You Got Me” at 52. It wasn’t until late 2014 that the pair began going by LOCASH. With a new name came a smash-hit single, “I Love this Life,”, which peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot Country chart. Tickets for LOCASH’s August 22 performance at 8 p.m. start at $20.
Justin Shandor resurrects the King with “The Ultimate Elvis Concert,” luau style at Inn of the Mountain Gods on August 27. Shandor shares an uncanny resemblance to the father of rock and roll, so much so that Elvis Presley’s original opening act, Rudy Tutti, said of the likeness “I never thought I’d see that face again. Unbelievable.”
Not only does Shandor eerily invoke Elvis nostalgia in appearance, but through his mannerisms, choreography, and voice too. Even the Presley family acknowledges the man’s astonishing ability to mimic the King, publically endorsing Shandor after watching him win the 2010 Ultimate Elvis Competition.
A luau-inspired dinner is included, featuring selections like sesame and honey glazed salmon with fresh scallions or Polynesian style chicken with a mango barbeque sauce. Doors for the show open at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. and the performance beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $50.
August also marks the final Sunday Under the Stars movie and music event, on Sunday, August 7 at 6 p.m. Come out to the final of the event of the summer series to catch artist Carolina Reign before the R.L. Stine inspired Goosebumps is screened. As always, Sundays Under the Stars is free to attend.
