Our resort has done it again!
For the second year in a row, Inn of the Mountain Gods has been awarded the AAA Four Diamond Award, one of the most prestigious hotel rating systems available to travelers today. Inn of the Mountain Gods is the only resort in southern New Mexico to receive this designation.
What is the AAA Diamond Rating?
The AAA Diamond Rating is the only rating system that uses comprehensive, on-site evaluations. Professional, anonymous inspectors determine the quality of experience the establishment provides.
How do you become AAA Approved?
In order to become AAA Approved, the hotel must first meet 33 basic requirements covering comfort, cleanliness, and safety. Once approved, AAA sends out anonymous, professional inspectors to spend the night and assess how the hotel stacks up against their published guidelines.
How many diamonds a hotel receives depends on the quality of services, facilities and amenities, and the caliber of experience offered. According to the AAA website, a Four Diamond Rated hotel is “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.”
The factors that make up a AAA Diamond Rating aren’t static. For instance, hotel standards are updated about every five years to reflect industry trends. New criteria include USB outlets to charge devices (which Inn of the Mountain Gods provides in every room) and excellent Wi-Fi strength (also a priority for our guests at Inn of the Mountain Gods).
The Four Diamond Rating places the property in extraordinary company, as only six percent of the more than 78,000 inspected and approved hotels are awarded that ranking. Including Inn of the Mountain Gods, there are presently just 15 AAA Four Diamond destinations in the state of New Mexico.
