Entertainment Line-up Includes 38 Special, Jon Pardi with Aaron Watson and For King & Country
MESCALERO, N.M. (March 15, 2017)— Inn of the Mountain Gods ushers in an eclectic line-up this April with Southern rockers 38 Special taking the stage April 7 followed by American country stars Jon Pardi and Aaron Watson April 8 and Australian Christian pop duo For King & Country performing April 27.
After more than three decades together, 38 Special continue to bring their signature blast of Southern rock to over 100 cities a year.
Their many Gold and Platinum album awards stand in testament to the endurance of a legendary powerhouse. Turn on any rock station throughout the 1980s and you’d be guaranteed to hear one of the band’s 23 hit singles. Their 1981 breakthrough hit “Hold On Loosely” is a multi-generational hit that climbed to no. 3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts and was featured in the 2004 comedy “Without a Paddle.”
No one-hit wonder, 38 Special has produced a steady stream of no.1 hits with 1982’s “Caught Up in You,” 1984’s “If I’d Been the One” and 1989’s “Second Chance.” The band has managed to stay relevant with younger audiences, even filming a CMT Crossroads special with country star Trace Adkins, where the two performed each other’s hits.
Tickets for 38 Special’s April 7 performance start at $25. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.
Jon Pardi is teaming up with Aaron Watson to bring attendees a night full of boot stomping entertainment. Pardi is an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer and first-time nominee for an ACM Award for New Male Vocalist of the Year. He has released two studio albums, one extended play, and six singles that have charted on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts including “Dirt On My Boots,” “Up All Night” and “Head Over Boots.”
Aaron Watson released his first album in 1999 and followed that up with “Texas Café” in 2000. It wasn’t until this third album, “Shut Up And Dance,” in 2002, that Watson gained radio airplay and attention nationwide. Following that record’s success, he released “The Honky Tonk Kid,” produced by Ray Benson and featuring Willie Nelson on guest vocals.
In February 2015, Watson made history when he released “The Underdog,” making him the first independent male artist to debut at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with a self-released and independently distributed and promoted the album. The record sold more than 26,000 units in the first week.
Tickets to see Jon Pardi with special guest Aaron Watson on April 8 start at $25. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.
Soaring melodies, driving rhythms, theatrical instrumentation, and personal themes are the heartbeat of For King & Country, described by critics as the Australian answer to Coldplay. The duo, comprised of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, released their debut album “Crave” in 2012 to rave reviews from both Christian and mainstream music critics. American listeners flocked to the Australian duo as well, propelling the album to no. 4 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and no. 15 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart.
The band truly broke into mainstream popularity with the release of their second album “Run Wild. Live Free. Love Strong,” which spent a long 17 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart peaking at no. 13 bolstered by singles “Run Wild” and “Fix My Eyes.”
For King & Country performs at Inn of the Mountain Gods on Friday, April 27 with door opening at 7 p.m. and shows starting at 8 p.m.
