MESCALERO, N.M. (February 21, 2017)—Rock and roll through the ages takes over Inn of the Mountain Gods this March as Three Dog Night takes the stage on Saturday, March 11 followed by American Idol alumni Daughtry Friday, March 17 and metal legends Dokken with special guest Lita Ford Saturday, March 18. The new month also brings all-new gaming promotions to the casino floor.

Dr. Seuss Day – Saturday, March 4
You would not, could not, must not miss, a day filled with fun
just like this. Bring the whole family to Dr. Seuss Day at Inn of
the Mountain Gods and enjoy breakfast from 9-10 a.m. that includes pancakes, fresh fruit, and juice. Then from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., all are invited to enjoy jumping balloons, an obstacle course and reading circles featuring “The Rainbow Fish,” “The Lorax,” “The Berenstain Bears” and more. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased online. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. And one last thing, don’t forget – bring a blanket or pillow on which you can sit.
Three Dog Night – Saturday, March 11
Formed in 1967 around lead vocalist Danny Hutton, Three Dog Night took over pop music with an indistinguishably smooth soft-rock sound and flawless vocal harmonies. The band’s impressive streak of critically acclaimed albums was augmented by a record-setting streak of 21 consecutive Billboard Top 40 hits featuring the no.1 singles “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” “Joy to the World” and “Black and White.”
Spring Break Theme Days – March 12-18
Calling all spring breakers! Close the books and hit the slopes at Ski Apache during Spring Break Theme Days. Kicking off March 12 with “Day of the Skiing Dead” and culminating March 18 with “Beach Bod Day,” each day features a specific theme that invites skiers and riders of all levels of academia to party on the mountain. Daughtry – Friday, March 17
Daughtry formed in 2005 following lead vocalist and songwriter Chris Daughtry’s shocking elimination from season five of American Idol, immediately releasing their self-titled debut album which spent a staggering 176 weeks on the Billboard 200. Their second album “Leave This Town” peaked at no .1 on the Billboard 200 before reaching Platinum certification, while 2011’s “Break the Spell” reached no. 8 on the Billboard 200 with a Gold certification and their most recent release “Baptized” debuted at no. 6 on the Billboard top 100 charts.
Shamrock Relay – Friday, March 17
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Ski Apache with the Shamrock Relay on Thursday, March 17. The free races pit two racers against each other as they dig up gold in the plaza, then hold onto their gold as they race through one of two predetermined courses down Easy Street or El Capitan before finally returning the gold to the Pot-O-Gold. The first to return the gold to the pot wins. Races are open from 11- 2 p.m. and are free, just register at the ENMU booth. New this year, racers are encouraged to post their race pictures to the Ski Apache Facebook page using the hashtag #shamrock for a chance to win Ski Apache swag.
Dokken with Special Guest Lita Ford – Saturday, March 18
Dokken found the most success in the mid-‘80s following their debut album “Breaking the Chains” in 1983, which gained the band a cult-like following despite lagging record sales. Following their debut, Dokken released three platinum albums in a row with 1984’s “Tooth and Nail,” 1985’s “Under Lock and Key,” and 1987’s “Back for the Attack,” which also peaked at no. 13 on the Billboard 200. Joining Dokken for a special performance March 18 is one of the best female guitarists of all time, Lita Ford. Her 1984 self-titled album “Lita,” peaked at no. 29 on the Billboard 200 and earned platinum certification bolstered by the no. 8 single “Close My Eyes Forever,” a duet with Ozzy Osbourne.
Pond Skim and Beach Body Contest – Saturday, March 18
The time has finally come to show off that beach body when the Pond Skim Beach Body Contest returns to Ski Apache on Saturday, March 18. Starting at 1:30 p.m. riders who spent the morning shredding in their best beach attire will parade around the plaza, where judges will select a male and female winner to take home $200 and be the judges for the Pond Skim starting immediately after. As for the Pond Skim itself, willing participants will fly down El Capitan as they pick enough speed in an attempt to skim across a small pond dug out in the beginner’s area. Each contestant will be judged on distance and style, with the winner being awarded $200. Additionally, contestants who can make it across the entire pond on their first attempt will win $100. Season Pass Sale –March 19-26
Passes for the 2017-2018 ski season can be purchased for more than 50 percent off during the Ski Apache online Season Pass Sale running Sunday, March 19 at 12 a.m. to Sunday, March 26 at 12 a.m. Throughout the sale, winter passes will be available for $250 while summer passes can be purchased for $59. Full Winter Black Season Passes will also be available during the sale for $349, allowing pass holders to skip all lines at the resort.

Apache Spirit Club members have a chance at $250,000 during the Lucky Shamlocks Cash Giveaway, March 1-25. Slot players will earn one entry into the weekly 6 p.m. drawings, Fridays at Inn of the Mountain Gods and Saturdays at Casino Apache for every 50 points they earn. Five winners will be chosen from each drawing receiving free spirit play and one lucky winner will play for a slice of $250,000.
Topple Tuesdays– March 6-27
Every Tuesday in March gives Apache Spirit Club members a shot at their share of $5,000 during Topple Tuesdays starting March 6. To participate, players must earn 10 points on any slot machine to earn one entry into the weekly 6 p.m. drawing. Five players will win the drawing and be given a number to match a corresponding Jenga-style block. The five players must each remove their block without toppling the whole stack to win $200 each and if the stack falls each player goes home with $25 in Free Spirit Play.
High 5’s for 55’s Pot of Gold – March 1-29
Apache Spirit Club members 55 and older can win their share of $18,000 in March. Every Wednesday during the High 5’s for 55’s Pot of Gold drawings, High 5’s for 55’s members who earn 10 points playing slots will be entered into the weekly 5 p.m. drawing. They will pull a tile revealing how much cash they’ve won. Additionally, High 5’s for 55’s members earn five times points every Monday and half off dining every Monday and Wednesday.
Loco for Locals Spring Forward Slot Tournament – March 2-30
It pays to be a local this March during the Spring Forward Slot Tournament, every Thursday in March starting March 2 at Casino Apache Travel Center. Locals who earn 20 points will gain one entry into the weekly slot tournaments, every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Casino Apache. The top 10 performers from each tournament will have a chance at $250 free spirit play while the top three will be invited to the final slot tournament at Inn of the Mountain Gods on Thursday, March 30 at 6 pm where $2,000 will be on the line.
Bingo – Now playing 7 days a week
