Mescalero, NM (April 16, 2009)–The Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course opened for the 2009 season Wednesday, April 15 with lower prices on its seasonal rates and a locals-only discount card, making it one of the best golf values in the state.

"The course is in beautiful condition and features fast-breaking greens, an island fairway and a lush landscape that is sure to test even the most experienced golfer," said Daniel Nuñez, director of golf at Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course. "We are thrilled that spring is here and can't wait to get the golfers back on the course, enjoying the beautiful weather and the fantastic playing conditions, all at a great value."

Nestled in the tall pines under the spectacular Sierra Blanca Peak, the course combines breathtaking scenery with a challenging layout to create the ultimate golf experience for its guests. Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course has been the recipient of numerous accolades from some of the sport's most-respected publications. The course was ranked in the "Top 40 Casino Golf Courses" by Golf Digest, included in Golf Week's list of the top 35 national golf courses and was highlighted as the most "underrated golf course in the Southwest" by Travel and Leisure.

"We know people have a tremendous number of beautiful golf courses to choose from in the Southwest, so we are incredibly proud of the reputation ours has earned," said Nuñez. "We continuously strive to be a course that people associate with outstanding service and exceptional golf, and we go to great lengths to ensure our guests feel welcomed and appreciated."

In celebration of the 2009 season, Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino is offering weekday and weekend packages that include two rounds of golf, a free breakfast and an overnight stay at the Inn. After a day on the links, guests can take in the outstanding amenities the Inn has to offer, including Las Vegas-style gaming, exciting entertainment and delicious dining options. With so many choices, guests will find many ways to play from sunrise to sundown at the Inn.

To ensure that area residents are not left out of the action, the Inn is also offering an exclusive Locals' Card that provides major discounts for those who come out to play. In addition, the newly renamed Apache Tee Restaurant is the perfect place for visitors and locals alike to enjoy a delicious meal after working up a hearty appetite out on the course.
