There’s always something to do at Inn of the Mountain Gods – even if it’s nothing at all. That’s part of the charm of this premier resort. Many visitors come to simply appreciate the peace and tranquility of the area, whether that’s lazing the day away in your deck chair, taking a relaxing soak in the indoor pool, or walking hand-in-hand along the beautiful lakefront path.
But don’t let that fool you into thinking that there’s nothing to do here. On the contrary, there’s always something fun and exciting to do in and around Inn of the Mountain Gods. With a full casino, nearby Ski Apache, restaurants, bars and lounges, live entertainment, a myriad of outdoor recreation and more, Inn of the Mountain Gods will have you coming back time and time again.
Golf at the Inn
Ruidoso, New Mexico has three beautiful and challenging golf courses including our own course – Inn of the Mountain Gods Championship Golf Course. There are other courses nearby in Cloudcroft and Carrizozo. Sunny western weather and cool summers make New Mexico golf enjoyable almost nine months a year. Ski Apache
As the country’s southernmost continually operational ski area, Ski Apache offers the best warm-weather powder skiing in the world with snowmaking on 33% of the mountain. The slopes offer a mix of wide beginner slopes, tough bump runs, a huge bowl, nice cruising runs, and a terrain park with jumps, tubes and rails. Ski Apache also offers ski and snowboard lessons for all ages, and sightseeing gondola rides.
Big Game Hunts
Deep in the heart of New Mexico’s ancient peaks of the Southern Rocky Mountains breath a timeless land filled with the richness of nature’s most beautiful creations. This is the Mescalero Apache Reservation, home of Mescalero Big Game Hunts. Within the confines of this sub-alpine and valley terrain, hunters experience the pride of hunting some of the finest bull elk, cow elk, bear and wild birds in North America.
Kids Summer Program
Our fun-filled kids activities program is designed for children 5-12 years old. Kid Activities are offered on Saturdays from the summer months of June to the end of August. Additional activities are offered on holiday weekends. Your little ones will experience activities that are fully supervised that include arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor activities, games, movies, special theme activities, prizes, lunch or dinner and a snack.
Pool and Hot Tubs
The Inn of the Mountain Gods mountain retreat facility includes a beautiful indoor pool, a 15-person hot tub and state-of-the-art fitness facility for our guests. There is no lifeguard on duty, so children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Fitness Room
Adjacent to our pool is the fitness center ... fully equipped with free weights, circuit weights and cardiovascular equipment. Men's and women's locker rooms are available for guest use and inside each are saunas and steam rooms. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Arcade
The arcade is located directly behind the concierge desk at the the Inn's Grand Lobby. It's a great place to play your favorite games as we have numerous arcade style games, several pool tables, a foosball table, an air hockey game and a CD jukebox ... and of course a change machine for your convenience.
Fishing
You can fish right at the Inn on beautiful Lake Mescalero. We stock the Lake with nearly 20,000 trout every year! And we even offer fishing equipment rental if you choose to leave your tackle box and pole at home! Just purchase a special day license at the Pool Desk located on the second floor of the Inn of the Mountain Gods. $18.00 Individual day licenses are available year-round from 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM daily.
Sporting Clay Range
The sporting clay range, located at the hunt lodge at Inn of the Mountain Gods, is open year-round, weather permitting. The range is closed during scheduled Big Game Hunts. Horseback Riding Stables
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is the perfect mountain retreat facility. Our riding stables are open seasonally from April-October weather permitting and not during scheduled Big Game Hunting. Daily trail rides last 1 hour, guests who plan on riding longer are asked to make a reservation. Riders must be at least 8 years of age and riding double is not permitted.
Boat Rental
Watercraft rentals are available on Lake Mescalero adjacent to the Inn for both recreational boating and fishing usually commencing in May of each year. Kayaks, paddle-boats and more are ready for an afternoon of fun and adventure on our beautiful spring-fed mountain lake. Boating Operations currently run Friday thru Sunday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM ... last boat leaves the dock at 6:00 PM and, as always, weather permitting. For more information, call
